It's hard to believe that the 2009 cycling season is just a month away! Just last week was the last
cyclocross race for the season in Kansas City!

The final cross race was the
Grote Prijs Shawnee in Shawnee KS. Race day was greeted with a balmy 40 degree temps and sun, crazy conditions for January. I had taken
some time off the bike since Nationals so I decided to race the Masters race and then do the 1,2,3 race an hour or so later. It was more of a quest for fitness than results, a fun way to end the cross season! It was fun duking it out with the local KC crew during the races and I even managed a 3rd in the Masters race and 6
th in the 1,2,3's.
So now it's time to put the cross bikes away and look forward to the coming season.
After
Cyclocross Nationals most of our team members called it a season and took some time off the bike to get caught up with the things in life that you put aside while you are training and racing. But now the bug has bitten and I see evidence that team members are beginning to prepare for the 2009 season. Everybody has been working on their base miles on the road or mountain bikes and I hope to organize a training camp sometime this spring.

yea, sometime after Craig's
water bottle thaws out!
